With October just around the corner, the time has come to announce our Preptober event. We’re trying something a little bit different this month and changing up the structure from our past prep events, so if anything is confusing at all, please feel free to reach out to us! Instead of focusing purely on aesthetic prompts, for this month, we’re splitting Preptober into different themed sections:
Characters: Friday 1 October — Sunday 10 October
Worldbuilding: Monday 11 October — Sunday 17 October
Plot: Monday 18 October — Tuesday 26 October
The Final Countdown: Wednesday 27 October — Sunday 31 October
During each section, we will share questions and activities pertaining to the topic to help y’all develop your WiPs. We will still have aesthetic prompts during each week, but you also have the option to share short responses, snippets, or any other way you can think of to answer the questions and/or share more about your work! The prompts will be shared throughout each week, and you’re free to pick and choose and answer any of them throughout the month. We will also have workshops hosted by our Messes similar to past prep months - each workshop will be announced at least 48 hours in advance. (Due to working around schedules, the workshops will not align with the week themes.)
Feel free to answer the released prompts at any point in time throughout the month, even if the topic has changed! Just label your response with what prompt you’re answering or, if it doesn’t pertain directly to a prompt, with a label that describes what you’re sharing. You don’t have to use the prompts or share anything at all! These are just to try to help you prepare.
As mentioned earlier, this is a new prep month format for AWiP, so if you have any questions, concerns, comments, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. If you want to join in with us on social media, too, tag us at @AWiP_writes on Twitter or use the hashtag #AWiPrepMonth.
We’re really excited to see the projects you guys come up with for November! Happy prepping!
